David Foster is the first person to win 1000 championships in any given sport. Son of a world champion woodchopper, David has continued the family tradition. He is now the greatest axeman in the world, competing against the finest woodchoppers from Australia, USA, Canada, New Zealand, Spain and Wales. His career tally so far is 182 world titles, 175 national titles and over 1400 championships. In 2002, David created the Australian Axeman's Hall of Fame, which exhibits the history of the sport and David's collection of sashes and trophies. For 13 years, David has participated in the annual Giving Tree Walk which raises money and gifts for disadvantaged children for Christmas. Living in Deloriane, David is a proud Tasmanian and is an inspirational role model for Tasmanians.
