Finalists announced for 2015 NSW Australian of the Year Awards
The 16 finalists for the 2015 NSW Australian of the Year Awards include an Antarctic station leader, child advocate and adoption campaigner, medical innovator, actor, comedian and humour therapist, social media innovator and charity founder.

Ethan Butson, 18 - Scientist and inventor (Mangerton)
Genevieve Clay-Smith, 26 - Film maker and social entrepreneur (Monterey)
Ryan Campbell, 20 - Aviation pioneer
Natalie Tran, 28 - Social media innovator

Carrie Deane - Social entrepreneur (Darlinghurst)

From these finalists, NSW Australian of the Year, Senior Australian of the Year, Young Australian of the Year and Local Hero Award recipients will be announced at a reception at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Sydney on 10 November 2014.
NSW Award recipients will then join recipients from all other States and Territories as finalists for the National Awards, which will be held in Canberra on 25 January 2015.
National Australia Day Council CEO, Mr Jeremy Lasek, said the NSW finalists are among 137 great Australians being recognised as State and Territory finalists in the 2015 Australian of the Year Awards.
“The NSW finalists are an amazing group of Australians all motivated by their own personal passions to make the world and Australia a better place - we can all be inspired by their incredible dedication to their chosen fields," said Mr Lasek.
