Reginald Lambert

Town: Mandurah
State: Western Australia

Community stalwart

He’s been a catalyst for change across his entire community but much of Reginald Lambert’s work has gone under the radar. For most of his 93 years, Reg has helped others. Reg and his wife, who passed away last year, fostered 30 children, as well as having five of their own. For the last 25 years, Reg has been a night carer for people sleeping rough in Perth’s Peel region, and still conducts weekly patrols. As the founder of Peel Connect, Reg established a group of volunteers to coordinate the work of charities, crisis centres, foster care, youth and family agencies, and more. A founding member of Christian Men of Peel, Reg has even anonymously donated a kidney. Reg continues to offer guidance, assistance and friendship to others, whether that's someone struggling to put a roof over their head, tackling addiction, or grappling with grief. A pillar of the Peel community, Reg embodies the values of sacrifice, mateship and service.
