Anna Rose

State: Australian Capital Territory

Environmental campaigner

Determined to take action on climate change, in 2006 Anna Rose established the Australian Youth Climate Coalition – a nationwide group that now boasts more than 110,000 young Australians who are standing up for their future.  Well-known for her starring role in the ABC Documentary special, I Can Change Your Mind on Climate in 2012, Anna has also published Madlands: A Journey to Change the Mind of a Climate Sceptic. Anna now runs Earth Hour, Australia's largest environmental movement, with World Widelife Fund Australia. More than one in three Australians take part in Earth Hour each year, turning off their lights to show their support for action to cut carbon pollution.  Anna's unique capacity to cross cultural, political and social boundaries inspires people from all walks of life. Her passion for nature is matched by her commitment to social justice and her optimism has inspired tens of thousands of people across the country to create a more sustainable and just future for all Australians.
