2012 Young Australian of the Year (South Australia) Anthropologist
From: South Australia
I am the first Aboriginal Australian Rhodes Scholar and an Assoc Lecturer in Anthropology at the University of Adelaide. Combining academic and archival research, my work broadly examines shifting local and global networks of relationships between people, museum objects and the environment. I am interested in materiality, the politics of representation, and the production and understanding of history. I have also worked with the National Museum of Australia, Smithsonian Institution and the UN.
