Who will it be in your state?
After considering more than 3260 nominations nationally, the National Australia Day Council is almost ready to release the names of the 111 state and territory finalists for the Australian of the Year Awards 2007.
Finalists names and biographies will be available on the web site next Thursday, 9 November.
Who will be your state finalists for Australian of the Year, Young Australian of the Year, Senior Australian of the Year and Local Hero?
People from all walks of life and areas of endeavour are acknowledged, from the arts to science, business to community service.
The ages of our finalists range from 17 to 97 years.
To find out who's in the running, log on to www.australianoftheyear.gov.au on Thursday 9 November.
State recipients will be announced at presentation events held in late November/early December.
