Time running out to Nominate for Australian of the Year Awards 2013

29 August 2012

Time is running out to have your say on who should be considered for the Australian of the Year Awards 2013, with nominations closing at 5pm this Friday, 31 August 2012.

The National Australia Day Council (NADC) said thousands of nominations have already been submitted for the Australian of the Year, Senior Australian of the Year, Young Australian of the Year and Australia's Local Hero awards, but urged people to get their nomination in before it was too late.

"It's simple and easy to nominate someone you think should be considered for the Australian of the Year Award, but you must submit a nomination by this Friday," said NADC Acting CEO, Ms Tam Johnston.

"If there is someone you would like to shine a light on, now is the time to take a few minutes and fill out a nomination for them.

"Your nominee could be honoured as Australian of the Year, Senior Australian of the Year, Young Australian of the Year or Australia's Local Hero."

Nominations can be made online at www.australianoftheyear.org.au or via a nomination form available from any branch of our Major Sponsor the Commonwealth Bank or call
