The Minister for Ageing recognises the achievements of Senior Australians

31 July 2008

The Senior Australian of the Year Award is proudly supported by the Department of Health and Ageing.

The Minister for Ageing, the Hon Justine Elliot MP, believes this award provides a great opportunity for the Australian community to recognise the ongoing contributions made by older Australians.

"The Senior Australian of the Year Award recognises those Australians who continue to work hard and long hours in their chosen fields and never cease to find more time and new ways to keep on giving," Minister Elliot said.

"This is your chance to nominate someone, over the age of 60, who continues to bring their expertise and wisdom to our communities.

"Their passion and experience is a truly precious resource," she said.
