Help us and the Department of Home Affairs celebrate Refugee Week
Every year Australia celebrates the contributions refugees bring to our diverse multicultural society in Refugee Week. This year, Refugee Week will be celebrated from Sunday 17 to Saturday 23 June, coinciding with World Refugee Day on 20 June.
The Department of Home Affairs invites you to join the celebrations and help raise awareness of the positive impact refugees have on our society. The Australian Government’s 2018 theme for Refugee Week is Refugee entrepreneurship and regional employment, which celebrates refugees who embody an entrepreneurial spirit, enrich our communities with new ideas and enhance our nation’s prosperity.
One way you can support Refugee Week is through social media. You might like to create a video about what Refugee Week means to you, or you could share photos of refugees who inspire you. Make sure you use the hashtag #RefugeeWeek and tag the Department of Home Affairs in your Facebook and Instagram posts.
