Australia's Local Hero 2009, Graeme Drew, to visit the Commonwealth Bank, Albany
Albany’s own Graeme Drew. Australia’s Local Hero 2009, will tomorrow visit the Albany branch of the Commonwealth Bank from 9.30 – 10.30am.
He will talk about his experiences since receiving the award and encourage all Commonwealth Bank staff, customers and the Albany community to have a say in who should be considered for the Australian of the Year Awards 2010.
Graeme was named Australia’s Local Hero 2009 for his work in Sea Rescue and the Bremer Bay SES, encouraging water safety and promoting and sharing his love and respect of the ocean with the community.
Graeme said it was important that all members of the community had a say in who should be considered for the Awards.
“I was thrilled to discover I was nominated and then successful in these important awards. Being recognised in this way has really inspired me to continue my work on coastal safety initiatives for the benefit of the Albany and the Western Australian community.
“This program is open to all Australians and I encourage the Albany community to nominate those they think worthy for the 2010 awards.”
