As Minister for Community Services, I am proud to support the Young Australian of the Year Award.

The Young Australian of the Year Award is a great opportunity to showcase the achievements of young Australians who - through initiative, hard work and persistence - achieve extraordinary results.

The Award is based on nominations made by the public, so it's up to all Australians to tell us who they think should be considered before nominations close on 28 August.

I encourage all Australians, young and old, to think about the young people in their local community and to nominate a young person who has made an outstanding contribution.
