Recipient Mary MacLaren is the face of the Cancer Council in Port Macquarie. Mary has drawn on her own experiences of her husband's illness to help others. She coordinates the local Daffodil Day and Biggest Morning Tea and raised money to build the Blue Gum Lodge, a place for patients and their carers to stay, relieving the financial strain of accommodation.
