Recipient Valma Anning shared a vision with others in her community for a friendly place where people could meet, learn new skills, or simply pop in for a cuppa. Val was a member of the inaugural planning committee for the Goodwood Community Centre in 1979 and has served continuously since then. A tireless worker, she was involved in the weekly bingo sessions that helped fund a new building and even helped make the mud bricks.
