1994 AwardAcademic ExcellenceHobart-born Bown was selected in 1993 to join the team representing Australia at the International Biology Olympiad in Holland. She competed against students from 16 countries to win the individual gold medal and, with other members of the team, the silver medal behind China. She has won a number of other academic awards and is also a talented sports person and musician.
