About the National Australia Day Council


The National Australia Day Council (NADC) is the coordinating body of the Australian of the Year Awards and Australia Day celebrations across the nation.

NADC heads a network of state and territory Australia Day affiliate organisations and local Australia Day committees. The council is a not-for-profit, Commonwealth owned company, overseen by a Board of Directors.

Inspire national pride and spirit to enrich the life of the nation.

Mission:


The Australia Day National Network is the recognised body working for the people of Australia to:

  • Unite all Australians through celebration with a focus on Australia Day;
  • Promote the meaning of Australia Day through activity, education, reflection, discussion and debate; and
  • Promote good citizenship, values and achievement by recognising excellence and service to the community and the nation.

The Australia Day National Network will observe the values of inclusiveness, fairness, ethical practice, open communication and accountability.
